TGL x RobotX

RobotX is a maritime competition held by RoboNation from the 11 to the 17 of November; the event aimed to help students interested in robotics build real-world skills needed in the workplace. Students from 15 universities around the world came together to engineer autonomous robotic vehicles, which where put through a series of tests. Students needed to follow strict rules and procedures and develop a system using the WAM-V surface craft manufactured by Marine Advanced Robotics. At the end of the competition, the best university won a prize based on the vehicle's technical features. The competition challenged students to transform their theoretical knowledge into practical solutions and become more familiar with automation. Students were able to develop relationships with academic institutions and industry partners to build career resources and advance their professional development. Robot x encourages students to create new innovative mechanisms, collaborate and increase proficiency in maritime robotics.

What We Do for Robotx

As an international freight company with access to all modes of transport around the world, we provided the participants with tailored freight services. As an official sponsor and freight forwarder, our team organised cargo transport for each university from various countries around the world and provided ongoing support for any freight-related needs. Given the nature and scale of the competition, our team of THINKERS carefully planned and organised each shipment tailored to each team's requirements.

Since transit times, origin country and dimensions of each shipment vary, we offered air and sea transport modes to ensure all vessels arrived in the most efficient manner. As an Australian Trusted Trader, we are responsible for organising customs clearance for the vessels as well as dangerous goods clearance for the batteries included in the shipments. In the days leading up to the competition the cargo was stored at our very own warehouse in Sydney, and all shipments were delivered to the venue before the competition began. No that the event has  concluded we will also organise door-to-door transport back to the country of origin for each team.
